Bridging the Gap: Makotek Computer Sales, Inc. Partners with TESDA X to Tackle Unemployment

This collaboration, cemented with a MOA signed on March 20, 2024, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro, supports the Tulong Trabaho Program aimed at skill development and employment enhancement.

In a significant development aimed at addressing unemployment and the job-skill mismatch in the Northern Mindanao and Davao City areas, Makotek Computer Sales, Inc., a leading supplier of brand new and genuine Information and Technology products, has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with TESDA X (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority), represented through TESDA Misamis Oriental and the Provincial Training Center - Misamis Oriental. This partnership, formalized on March 20, 2024, at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, is a testament to the shared vision of enhancing employment opportunities and skills development within the community. The collaboration falls under the ambit of the Tulong Trabaho Program, a scholarship initiative born out of Republic Act No. 11230. The program is designed to innovate approaches to tackle unemployment and skill discrepancies by providing Selected Training Programs (STPs) to eligible individuals. This strategic alliance not only underscores Makotek's commitment to social responsibility but also highlights the proactive measures being undertaken by TESDA X to fulfill its mandate of fostering a skilled and competent workforce.

The MOA was signed by esteemed representatives from both parties. Makotek's executive officers, demonstrating their commitment to the partnership, were present alongside Ms. Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, the Provincial Director of TESDA Misamis Oriental, and Mr. Austolio V. Igot, who represented TESDA X Regional Director Dan M. Navarro, DPA.
